Summer at Ontario Place

Ontario Place’s Famous I-Max Theatre and waterfront area

As the summer continues to heat up for Canadian families, Ontario Place is excited to add some new programs and activities to its roster.

A brand new recreational space in the East Commons is available for visitors to enjoy, which includes a skatepark, three FIBA sized basketball courts (and two half courts), a bocce court, table tennis tables, a big sandbox, giant chess, Imagination Playground for the kids and a new lower patio for people to relax and soak up summer.

All activities and ball rentals are FREE and available daily from 10 AM – 10 PM.

CJ’s SKATEPARK staff will be onsite at Ontario Place every Saturday from 12 PM – 6 PM offering a series of specialized classes including introductory group lessons, girls only lessons, private lessons and FREE skateboard servicing clinics and mini skills competition. Interested participants can sign up here to register and learn more.

In addition to the new recreational area, Ontario Place launches an Art in the Park class series led by Art Tonite. The series includes family-friendly afternoon classes on weekends and adult classes on Wednesday and Saturday evenings at the Vista Eatery. Art Tonite will also be offering an art-focused summer camp for kids aged 5- 12 years of age, which will run from July 20 to August 23. Four fun-filled weeks of masterpiece creation, where kids can learn valuable skills like how to express themselves through creativity and have the self-confidence to showcase their unique talents. Daily, weekly and monthly class options available. Visit our website for more information and to register.

And for those looking for some indoor fun,  the Cinesphere is offering an exciting curated director’s and documentary series, featuring films like Apollo 11, Romeo and Juliet, the Great Gatsby and for the kids weekend matinees screenings of Super Dogs 3D – The IMAX Edition.

Visitors can also rent paddleboats and kayaks, sign up for a segway tour, enjoy a free yoga class on Saturday and Sunday mornings in Trillium Park, listen to live jazz music on Sunday afternoons at Vista Eatery, Ontario Place’s outdoor licensed café that offers one of the best views of the waterfront the city has to offer.
