If you’re going to be in or near Toronto for the Labour Day long weekend, you’ll want to take note of these FREE activities and recreational sports at Ontario Place, located on Toronto’s gorgeous waterfront.
First off, there’s FREE Yoga in Trillium Park on Saturday from 10 AM – 11 AM and Sunday from 11 AM – 12 PM. There’s also FREE recreational sports such as basketball courts, a skate park, ping pong tables, bocce ball, a giant sandbox and Imagination Playground for the kids.
Feel like something a little more cultural or perhaps a bit of a date night? There’s also Jazz Sundays at the Vista — the place to be to listen to talented emerging jazz musicians, which runs from 4 – 6:30 PM this Sunday.
In addition to free activities, Ontario Place offers a number of affordable and fun options such as skateboard lesson with CJ’s Skatepark who will be onsite on Saturday from 12 PM – 5 PM. Looking for a creative outlet? Then Art Tonite’s Paint in the Park series – Family Edition and Night Out were made for you. Take a painting class as on Vista’s patio as you overlook one of the most beautiful lakeside views in the city! Up for an adventure? Then rent a paddleboat, kayak or sign up for a Segway tour. For a truly immersive entertainment experience. check out the action-packed movie Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol IMAX Experience or the IMAX original film, Super Power Dogs 3D at the Cinesphere.
This weekend, Electric Island is having a two-day dance festival on the West Island on Saturday, Aug 31 and Sunday, Sept 1 and Ontario Place has long been a favourite destination to watch the airshow on Monday, Sept 2nd.
