I feel like yelling — “I’ve arrived!” when I see this untouched, unedited photo of my 8-month pregnant profile. Rick snapped this photo randomly as I was getting ready for bed the other night and when I saw the growth and form of my little man, I was thrilled. Not only that, but I was proud of myself for sticking to a decent health and fitness routine throughout the majority of my second pregnancy.
As I’ve said before, the first time around (due to extreme, lengthy morning sickness and low amniotic fluid levels) I wasn’t as active as I wanted to be. I packed on the pounds and I when I look back at those photos it’s sometimes shocking to see what the human body can do when diet and exercise are neglected.
With festive food temptations all around me, a busy work-life schedule, plus toddler leftovers in my face three times a day, it hasn’t been easy to focus on “fit.” The struggle to keep fitter than last time is definitely real (#thestruggleisreal). But, it can be done. With a bit of self-control (when it comes to food) and finding fun ways to fit in my Goodlife fitness routine, I’ve come two months shy from the finish line in pretty decent form.
It’s all about the mind game — being stronger than those inner voices that come up with countless excuses to indulge and skip exercise.
Only two more months to go! I’ll post an update closer to the final days along with a previous (first pregnancy) body shot.
Happy health & fitness everyone!
