As part of our Camp Campanelli summer series we’re promoting Monday’s as a great time to “move it” with your family.
After fun weekends (usually full of indulging), it’s time to kick things up a notch and focus on fitness.
Why Monday?
Most people start new routines at the beginning of the weekend. So, if you kick things off with a #moveitmonday you’re likely going to stick with it during the week. Finding some way to move your body does so many great things for you – from endorphins to weight loss etc – that it’s a crucial component to overall health and maintenance. We love setting good examples for our kids so before 9:00 am today we’d already played in our front yard, brought out the bicycles and scooted around our court.
As soon as I wake up (Angie), I arm myself for an active day by putting on workout type attire. In the summer, it’s so easy to pass off loose tank tops, athletic shorts and bright sports bras as actual clothing. So try setting yourself up for fitness success by dressing for the occasion as soon as you wake up.
I also find that it’s a great way to sneak in activity throughout the day. If you can’t seem to commit 30 straight minutes to exercise, try 5-10 minutes here and there throughout the day.
So, today, our #MoveitMonday meant getting outdoors bright and early and giving out scooters a good ride.
How do you plan to be active today? Do you try to encourage physical activity every day?
Have a great week!
